The Company is focused on developing gene therapies to improve the lives of patients and specifically, non-viral gene therapies based on its novel and proprietary Dually Derivatized Oligochitosan, or "DDX”, gene delivery platform. The Company’s lead product candidate, EG-70, is in a pivotal study for BCG-unresponsive high risk non-muscle invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC).Overview : enGene is seeking an energetic, versatile, and highly driven corporate attorney to collaborate closely with the enGene legal and business teams on corporate legal matters, with a particular focus on managing and overseeing the legal contracting function. Reporting directly to the Chief Legal Officer, the Assistant General Counsel will be a key member of a small legal team supporting a cutting-edge, clinical stage biotechnology company. This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic, growing company in a high-profile role.Experience : The successful candidate will have a J.D. and 7-10+ years of meaningful legal experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide variety of complex and routine commercial and corporate agreements within the biopharmaceutical industry. The ideal candidate will have foundational law firm training and in-house legal experience with a pharmaceutical or biotechnology company. Prior in-house experience and a successful track record developing, building, and streamlining processes for contract management are required.Location : Waltham, Massachusetts with a flexible and hybrid work schedule.Relocation : Yes, but local candidates are strongly preferred.Compensation : Commensurate with experience.
