The City of Berkeley invites you to apply for the position of Librarian I at the Berkeley Public Library! In this role, you will have the opportunity to plan and deliver programs to the public, perform outreach, collection management, and community engagement.Specialty areas at the Central Library and branches include Adult, Teen, Children's Services, and Collection Services.This recruitment will create an eligible list that will be used by the department to fill future temporary and/or career positions in the next 12 months. Full-time, part-time, and/or intermittent positions may be available.A typical way of gaining the knowledge, skills, and abilities for this classification is:Equivalent to graduation from a college or university with a Master's degree in Library Science. Progressively responsible related experience may be substituted for the college course work on a year-for-year basis.A valid California driver's license is desirable. When driving on City business, the incumbent is required to maintain a valid California driver's license as well as a satisfactory driving record.
