Position:May FBC Kids Director exists to coordinate and lead a ministry of connection, evangelism, and spiritual growth for children in the May community. The minister will provide leadership in the implementation of educational ministries to evangelize and disciple children ages Pre-K through 6 th
grade.May FBC children’s ministry regularly serves 60-80 children during Wednesday evening activities and God is continuing to bless.Responsibilities:Under the Senior Pastor’s supervision, plan, promote, implement, and evaluate the comprehensive Christian education and development of our May Kids Ministry (Pre-K-6th). This is to include, but not limited to the following:Sunday SchoolWednesday Evening May Kids MinistryOn-going discipleship and outreachDevelop, coordinate, and conduct Christian education opportunities for May Kids, such as: Summer Camps, VBS, Outreach Activities, Leadership Development, and in-depth Discipleship training.Develop, coordinate, and conduct training programs for all volunteers, workers, and other individuals that may be involved in May Kids Ministry. Additionally, supervise all involved in May Kids Ministry to ensure the safety and proper biblically development of students.Actively participate in the overall programs and ministry of the church.Provide caring pastoral ministry and biblical counsel to children and their parents of May FBC.Collaborate with the May Student Minister to ensure an integrated approach to ministry that creates a building block system of teaching.Work with the Senior Pastor, other ministry leaders, the church membership as a whole, and the various committees to determine and evaluate the overall direction of May Kids ministries that will serve to encourage the spiritual development and maturity of the participants and their families of May FBC.Work as a team member with all staff and volunteers to ensure harmony and positive spiritual growth in the church.Minimum Qualifications:Must be a born-again Christian who holds to the Baptist Faith and Message 2000. And who can clearly express a call from God into the area of Children’s Minister.Possess a High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.Display the following Christian characteristics:Teachable (because a Christian leader is primarily a disciple of Jesus)Faithful (A willingness to live life God’s way)Enthused (excited about what God is doing in their life and in ministry environments)Accountable (living in spiritual accountability)Committed (to Christ, family, First Baptist May, and to their ministry)Graceful (operates in a manner that extends grace to those they serve with and all they interact with)
