Lighthouse Lab Services has partnered with one of North Carolina's leading Healthcare systems and we are looking for a Medical Technologist to join the team.Job Overview:As a Medical Technologist Generalist, you will be responsible for conducting a wide range of laboratory tests and analyses on patient samples to provide accurate and timely information to healthcare professionals.Key Responsibilities:Sample Collection and Processing:Collect, label, and process patient samples in adherence to established protocols.Ensure proper handling and transportation of specimens to maintain sample integrity.
Laboratory Testing:Perform various laboratory tests, including clinical chemistry, hematology, immunology, microbiology, and blood banking.Operate and maintain laboratory equipment to ensure accurate and reliable results.
Quality Control:Conduct routine quality control procedures to ensure the accuracy and precision of laboratory test results.Monitor and troubleshoot any deviations from established quality standards.
Documentation and Record Keeping:Maintain detailed and accurate records of laboratory procedures, test results, and quality control data.Prepare reports and summaries for healthcare professionals.
Compliance and Safety:Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines in the laboratory.Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and accreditation standards.
Collaboration:Collaborate with healthcare professionals, pathologists, and other members of the healthcare team to interpret and communicate laboratory results.
Continuous Learning:Stay updated on advancements in laboratory technology and medical science.Participate in ongoing education and training programs.
Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field.ASCP certification or equivalentExperience:Previous experience working in a clinical laboratory setting is often preferred.Shift and Salary:2nd Shift; 2:00pm - 10:00pmMonday-FridaySalary: $25-$35/hour depending on experience
