A law firm in Houston is seeking a skilled Tax Lawyer with 2-6 years of experience at a law firm, specializing in public finance and/or nonprofit health care tax matters. The ideal candidate will possess strong academic credentials and a demonstrated track record of handling complex tax issues.Duties and Responsibilities:Provide expert legal advice and counsel on a variety of tax-related issues, with a focus on public finance and nonprofit health care sectors.Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support clients in compliance matters, tax planning, and transactional tax issues.Draft and review legal documents, including tax opinions, agreements, and disclosures, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.Represent clients in tax audits, administrative proceedings, and litigation matters as needed.Collaborate with other attorneys and professionals within the firm to deliver comprehensive legal solutions to clients.Requirements:JD from an accredited law school.Admission to the State Bar of Texas or eligibility for admission by waiver.2-6 years of relevant experience practicing tax law at a reputable law firm.Experience with public finance and/or nonprofit health care tax matters preferred.Strong understanding of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.Excellent analytical, research, and writing skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.Proven ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.Preferred Qualifications:LLM in Taxation or related field.Prior experience advising nonprofit organizations or public entities.Experience advising clients on tax-exempt financing transactions.Benefits and Compensation:Competitive salary commensurate with experience.Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, and life insurance.Retirement savings plan with employer contributions.Paid time off and holidays.Professional development opportunities and continuing education support.
