Through the UCSB Institute for Energy Efficiency, the 2035 Initiative is seeking an Academic Coordinator I (Deputy Director) who will work closely with the 2035 Initiative’s Director, Principal Investigators, and researchers.Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:Lead policy development activitiesLead outreach and engagement activitiesLead fundraising effortsCollaborate with Initiative facultyEngage with coalition partnersSupport communications and outreach effortsSupport management of the InitiativeBroadly lend support to the Initiative teamThe University is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community.Program:

Basic qualifications (required at time of application):Bachelor’s degree in political science, sociology, economics, environmental studies, environmental science, public policy, public administration, communications, or a related field.Preferred qualifications:Master’s degreeExcellent writing skills1-3 years of policy development and/or community engagement experience1-3 years of administrative support or project coordination experienceKnowledge of environmental politics, policy, and institutionsAbility to handle a diverse portfolio of responsibilities simultaneouslyExperience working with interdisciplinary teamsExperience supporting fundraising effortsExperience using project management or collaboration platformsExcellent computer skillsStrong work ethicApplication Requirements
