We are looking for a full-time math specialist in the San Francisco Bay Area who is able to work in and near Atherton, CA, for hybrid, one-on-one in-person and online tutoring. Experience with high school math (Algebra 1/2, Geometry, & Trigonometry) up to AP Calculus BC is required, and experience with the IB Diploma Program and college level math (Multivariable Calculus, Linear Algebra, Differential Equations, etc.) is preferred.

Job Description

ESM Prep is seeking an energetic and engaging tutor who is a content expert in mathematics and a kind mentor who can support their students holistically. The tutors in this position will primarily work with students in person, 1-on-1, tutoring them in the areas of high school math up through at least AP Calculus BC. College-level math knowledge and a willingness to be trained as an SAT and ACT tutor are pluses!We call our tutors

because we prioritize the holistic development of each of our students. All applicants should be passionate about working with youth and should have previous experience tutoring, teaching, and/or coaching.

Job Requirements

2+ years of direct experience 1-on-1 tutoring or teaching in many, if not all, of the following subjects: HS Algebra, Geometry, Calculus, AP Calculus AB and BC, and advanced college-level math.Bachelor's degreeReliable transportationAvailability to tutor during weekdays (usually after 3 PM) and/or weekends (a tutor's typical work schedule is Sunday-Thursday). Some weekday sessions will start late due to after-school activities. Scheduling is flexible.Availability to tutor through at least June 2025Reliable Internet access (fast enough for video conferencing)Experience working with students with learning differences is a plus.A willingness to train (paid) to tutor the SAT/ACT is a big plus!

Compensation/Benefits:

First-year salary is expected to be between $70,000 and $85,000 through salary, hourly, and bonus opportunities. It is largely dependent on hours worked.
