Major Health, Vision and Dental start with 30 daysRapidFire Safety & Security is seeking a skilled and experienced Fire Alarm Technician to join our team. The Fire Alarm Technician will be responsible for installing, inspecting, testing, and maintaining fire alarm systems to ensure they operate effectively and comply with regulatory standards and client requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service.Responsibilities:The Alarm Technician will be required to perform any duties in connection with the installation, testing, maintenance, inspection, and repair of fire alarm equipment. In addition, perform clerical and other duties required such as keeping proper records of time, material, and operations. Testing and maintenance of all brands of equipment. Strong fundamental troubleshooting skills. Part of the on-call rotation.
Installation/construction primarily parts and smarts subcontractor to Electrical contractor. Required to become Notifier certified. Mechanical/smoke control repair/knowledge required for repair and commissioning. Work in a fast-paced pressure-commissioning environment. Communication and working professionally with other trades.Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in electronics, electrical systems, or fire alarm technology is preferred.Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a fire alarm technician or in a related field.Knowledge of fire alarm systems, components, and wiring techniques, with hands-on experience installing and troubleshooting various types of fire alarm equipment.Familiarity with fire alarm codes and standards, such as NFPA 72, IBC, and ADA requirements.Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical problems and implement effective solutions.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, colleagues, and subcontractors.Valid driver's license and clean driving record.Relevant certifications, such as NICET, manufacturer-specific training, or state licensure, are desirable but not required.
