About the Job The role of Director of Financial Aid and Scholarships at UC Merced is an administrative staff position that reports to the Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs. The director shapes campus financial aid policies, develops strategies for fund utilization, and ensures adherence to regulations. Effective leadership aligns with the Enrollment Management division's commitment to student success through quality service standards. Key Responsibilities: Advance accessible financial aid and student support services Ensure compliance with regulations Collaborate on enrollment and retention efforts Work with UC system staff on policy matters Develop and deliver financial aid webinars Manage HR-related activities Collaborate on security and privacy of financial aid information Oversee funds management activities Review and approve aid program expectations Administer scholarships and aid coordination Participate in financial aid audits Develop Annual Report and Assessments Disseminate updates and schedule staff meetings Represent UC Merced on committees Qualifications Bachelor's degree, 7 years related experience, 7 years as Financial Aid Director, UC system experience preferred. Advanced knowledge and skills in financial aid policies, recruitment, budgeting, and communication. Strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
