Patent Agent/Technical Advisor

A law firm based in Los Angeles is seeking a Patent Agent/Technical Advisor with expertise in preparing and prosecuting patent applications. The role entails providing technological guidance to attorneys, counseling clients on IP strategy, and managing IP portfolios.Duties:Prepare and prosecute patent applications filed with the USPTO and foreign patent offices.Offer technological guidance to attorneys in documenting inventions.Counsel clients on comprehensive IP strategy, prior art analysis, and IP portfolio management.Assist with foreign patent applications as needed.Independently multi-task under deadlines, manage firm resources efficiently, and prioritize and manage case assignments.Requirements:Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering (advanced degree preferred).3+ years of experience in patent prosecution.Registration to practice before the USPTO is advantageous.Some organic chemistry experience is preferred.Industry experience is preferred.Skills:Excellent writing and communication skills.Exceptional interpersonal skills.Ability to multi-task independently.Efficient resource management and delegation.Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.Familiarity with specialized software and online programs.Education/Certifications:Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering (advanced degree preferred).
