Research Interviewer, Gender Affirmation Program Study (Per Diem)

OverviewJoin the Center for Home Care Policy & Research at VNS Health to get hands-on experience conducting primary data collection for health services research studies. Help inform the future of home and community-based services by contributing to ongoing studies including grant funded programs. You’ll be responsible for engaging with and scheduling study participants, capturing stories, ensuring the integrity of the data is organized and factual.

What You Will DoTelephones potential study subjects (e.g., VNS Health patients, staff) to solicit cooperation for research study participation, provides information and answers questions about protocol process.

Prescreens study subjects via the telephone using a structured questionnaire or other data collection tool(s).

Schedules appointments for in-home interviews and/or telephone interviews with eligible study subjects and conducts follow up interviews, as needed per specific study protocol.

Travels to study participants’ homes and/or other facilities with varying environments (e.g., elevated buildings, walk-ups, care facilities, single/multiple family homes, presence of pets, etc.) using approved transportation options to conduct personal interviews with study subjects.

Collects body and fluid specimens and tests study participant vital signs (e.g., blood pressure), as needed per specific study protocol.

Keeps detailed records of study subject contact and interview information in a logical and organized format.

Follows appropriate informed consent procedures and adheres to guidelines for research involving human subjects.

Participates in training and on-going efforts to ensure data integrity. Reviews data collection instruments for completeness and accuracy before submitting to project staff. Responds in a timely manner when notified of problems with instruments or interviewing techniques.

QualificationsLicenses and Certifications:Valid driver’s license as determined by operational/regional needs, required.

Education:High School diploma or equivalency, required.

Bachelor's degree in health care, social services or social sciences, preferred.

Work Experience:Prior experience working in a health care setting, home care or geriatrics, preferred.

Candidates will also have prior interviewing experience and strong communication skills, preferred.

Excellent customer service and organizational skills required, along with the ability to work autonomously without direct day-to-day supervision, required.

Candidates must also have access to a personal computer with internet access to receive daily communications from research group, required.

Must be self-motivated to set own work schedule and interviews with patients, required.
