Position OverviewThe Senior Graphic Designer for Strategic Partnerships Marketing will lead our creative design initiatives within the Strategic Partnerships Marketing team. As a Senior Graphic Designer, you will be responsible for developing and executing visually stunning and impactful designs for various marketing materials and campaigns. You will collaborate closely with the Strategic Partnerships Marketing team and Business Partners to translate marketing objectives into compelling visual content that effectively communicates our brand and strategic messages. The ideal candidate will have a strong portfolio showcasing their design skills, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to drive innovation and elevate the overall quality of our design outputs, be highly motivated, have excellent attention to detail, have an understanding of our individual business segments including but not limited to Home Centers, Online Content, Builder, Multifamily, Specialty Markets, Buying Groups, National Accounts, and TotalWorx, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while keeping strategy, user experience and thoughtful design front of mind. This role will focus on our Home Centers and Online Content partnerships.
Responsibilities:
Lead the development and execution of visually compelling and on-brand designs for a wide range of marketing materials, including brochures, presentations, infographics, digital ads, social media graphics, and other promotional materials including in-store merchandising and POP. PowerPoint presentations are specifically crucial for this role
Collaborate closely with the Strategic Partnerships Marketing, Business Partners, and Cross-functional teams to understand project requirements, objectives, and target audience, and translate them into impactful visual designs
Provide creative direction and mentorship to the graphic design team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality design outputs that meet brand standards, marketing strategies, and project goals
Develop and maintain a consistent visual identity and brand standards across all marketing materials and segments
Stay up-to-date with design trends, industry best practices, and emerging technologies, and drive innovation in design approaches and techniques
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including copywriters, creative cohorts, marketing managers, and web developers, to ensure seamless integration of design elements with content and functionality
Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and delegate responsibilities to the design team as needed
Conduct regular design reviews with peers and business partners and provide constructive feedback to enhance the quality and effectiveness of design outputs
Establish and maintain relationships with external vendors and agencies, ensuring the successful execution of design projects
Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences to inform design decisions and strategies
Coordinate with creative agencies and internal marketing stakeholders to ensure designs align with marketing and business strategies
Must work well under pressure; effectively handle tight deadlines, unexpected delays, revisions, miscellaneous requests and changing priorities
Candidate must possess excellent project management skills with attention to detail and ability to follow a project from concept through production with minimal supervision
Strong interpersonal skills with the desire to collaborate with team members and provide graphic design production support for internal and external customers
Maintain organized files and assets, ensuring easy access and retrieval of design materials
Contribute to a culture that supports great creative through curiosity, exploration and innovation
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design or related field. Or 5 years of proven experience as a Senior Graphic Designer in a corporate marketing or agency setting
Strong portfolio showcasing a range of design work, including print and digital materials
Expert proficiency in graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
In-depth understanding of typographical hierarchy design principles, color theory, and layout composition
Strong leadership and mentoring abilities, with a track record of successfully leading and inspiring a design team
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively present and explain design concepts to stakeholders
Ability to handle multiple projects and adapt when priorities change and to work independently
Must be organized in art production and management and knowledge of best print practices
Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality, pixel-perfect designs
Ability to work independently and as part of a team taking ownership of design projects from concept to completion
Positive and inclusive attitude that fosters collaboration on the team and with other departments within Shaw Industries
Preferred Skills:
Strong aptitude for mentorship and coaching
Marketing knowledge is a plus
Video editing and photography skills are a plus
