Job SummaryAs an Environmental Test Technician, you will set up and execute environmental tests including vibration, shock, thermal vacuum, and thermal cycling for components, subsystems, and satellite products. A successful candidate for this role will demonstrate integrity, intellectual curiosity, empathy, technical capability, and a strong motivation to support the environmental test resource. This role will require the ability to work the first or second shift depending on business needs.

This position's internal job code is Environmental Test Tech. Our team is currently hiring for Grade 24.Responsibilities

Execute environmental tests of space flight hardware using a variety of specialized equipment and tools, including: electrodynamic shakers, thermal vacuum chambers, thermal cycling chambers, torque wrenches, adhesives, etc.Install and operate test instrumentation and other specialized test equipment, including: accelerometers, thermocouples, etc.Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, assembly procedures, test procedures, etc.Work with engineering to define and refine standard operating proceduresRecord, prepare, organize, and deliver test data, run logs, and other relevant documentation for inclusion in final test reportsMaintain environmental test lab equipment, perform resource 5S activities, etc.As required, oversee testing at outside test facilitiesSupport initiatives to maintain safe operations, ensure product quality, reduce lead time/labor hours, etc. through environmental testMinimum Qualifications

2+ years experience working in a test environmentAvailable to work shifted or alternate work schedule when requiredAbility to maintain an organized, clean workspaceDemonstrated ability to collaborate with peersStrong attention to detailSome travel may be requiredPreferred Qualifications

5+ years of relevant experience, preferably in the aerospace industryExperience with thermal, vibration, EMI/EMC, shock, TVAC and/or acoustic testingExperience working in cleanrooms with ESD sensitive componentsExperience setting up and operating a wide range of machining tools, including: CNC mills, CNC routers, drill presses, grinders, chop saws, power and hand toolsExperience working with test automation equipment (i.e. power supplies, DAQs, etc.)Industry certification, Trade School training, and/or Military experienceExperience working with Atlassian products such as Jira and ConfluenceAbility to obtain ClearanceAbility to travelStrong written and verbal communication skills
