The Oncology & Infusion Pharmacy Supervisor position oversees all aspects of the Oncology & Infusion Pharmacy's operations at UCSF Health including implementing and daily management of the drug distribution process, drug utilization improvement, and patient outcomes. Works to improve patient care services and assures that quality assurance outcomes are met. This position is responsible for operational staff development and assessment of staff competency including training, goal setting, and performance evaluations. Additionally, this position will encompass Pharmacist In Charge responsibilities because of the direct oversight in the pharmacy itself. Works with Specialist, Senior, and Staff Pharmacists and manages daily scheduling of pharmacists and other pharmacy employees and timekeeping. Assists Residency Directors in coordinating residency experiences within the department and assists with student experiences. Works with the inpatient department to ensure exceptional continuity of care between inpatient and outpatient locations. Works with fellow peer groups within the pharmacy enterprise to operationalize clinical program implementation. The pharmacist provides supervision to pharmacists and technical support staff and directly participates in the pharmacy and covers when staff is unavailable.Department Description:

The UCSF Health Oncology & Infusion Services is a specialized and rapidly growing arena where the goal is to provide integrated, high-quality care to our patients throughout San Francisco and the entire Bay Area. Our pharmacy and entire care team collaborates, partners, and transforms the medication delivery process as we expand services to our patients and community.Required Qualifications:Must have at least three years of experience as a licensed pharmacist in a hospital and/or oncology & infusion pharmacy or an equivalent combination of education and experienceDemonstrates subject matter knowledge of pharmaceutical theory and industry best practices in optimizing the use of medication to treat patients. Stays updated on pharmacy regulations and developments in research and design. Ability to apply principles to an acute care setting.Knowledge of relevant Pharmacy Department, medical center, and UC policies and protocols including medication storage, safety, and patient privacy and treatment. Knowledge of all pharmacy federal and state laws and regulations.Demonstrated leadership skills in training and guiding employees on technical skills to compound, prepare, mix, and manufacture sophisticated or rare medication in specialty area. Motivates and inspires staff to improve quality and services.Demonstrated ability to prioritize effectively to meet deadlines in a complex, challenging environment.Ability to organize assigned staff and unit operations in an efficient and effective manner. Ability to apply policy knowledge to identify productivity inefficiencies and compliance risks.Ability to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with peers, patients, multidisciplinary team members, senior management, and assigned staff.Skills to evaluate issues and identify solutions within defined procedures and policies. Demonstrated ability to solve patient problems and suggest solutions through critical thinking process.Ability to listen actively to clinical staff and patients, understanding varying viewpoints and receiving feedback. Verbal and written communication skills to tactfully articulate reasoning behind own opinions and change the thinking of, or gain acceptance from others.Ability to perform all commonly applicable functions in clinical documentation applications and pharmacy database technology and train others to effectively use applications.Preferred Qualifications:Registered Advanced Pharmacist Provider in the State of CaliforniaBoard Certification in Pharmacotherapy and / or Board Certification in Specialty Practice [if available]Post-graduate year 1 [PGY1] In Pharmacy Practice or equivalent experience requiredPost-graduate year 2 [PGY2] in the area of specialty practice or equivalent experience in the specialty area preferredLicense/Certification:Registered Pharmacist in the state of CaliforniaMust be certifiable for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).About UCSF:
