The incumbent in this role will be responsible for designing, drafting, and procurement of model hardware and support during assembly and installation for testing in the hydraulic laboratory.

Responsibilities

Read and interpret drawings to generate neatlines for scaling and manufacturing homologous model componentsDesign in Siemens NX CAD: 2-D drawings, 3-D models, and assemblies of model hardware and test stand configurations.Create and maintain work instruction procedures for model components that cover the following processes: design, manufacture, inspection, assembly, and installation.Design model components to meet contractual requirements (example viewport size (area), number and position of dynamic sensors, piezometric tap locations, etc.).Use material and construction design techniques which will meet technical requirements while minimizing costs and scheduleProcure parts using the most appropriate manufacturing techniques (3-D printing, fabrication, milling, lathe, etc.) and coordinate the manufacturing of model components with suppliers.Perform dimensional inspections to assess the geometric characteristics of manufactured parts to verify their compliance with design specifications and homology requirements.Provide disposition and corrective action plans for manufactured components when non-conformances are identified.Assist Hydraulic design engineers in the preparation of drawings for reports and presentationsSupport Hydraulic application engineers in the preparation of 2D / 3D models to be analyzed by CFDDigitize and regenerate 3D models from 2D drawings for prototype manufactureQualifications

Associate Engineering Degree with an emphasis in engineering technology or Drafting / CADDrafting CAD skills and the ability to visualize 3-D contours and design parts for integral assembly3-5 years of experience in mechanical design, CAD, and drafting is highly preferredManufacturing custom parts or engineering experience is highly preferredAbility to work independently as well as part of a teamDiligent to details and experience with mating partsAbility to concisely communicate engineering ideas, through oral and written expressionPhysical Demands

The employee is frequently required to stand and walk in an office or manufacturing environment from 4-8 hours.
