Training Specialist

at our Coppabella Moorvale Joint Venture (CMJV) Mine. Our CMJV mine complex consists of two open-cut mine operations located approximately 140 kilometers southwest of Mackay that produce premium low-volatile pulverized coal (LV-PCI) for export markets, with an extension of an additional pit at Moorvale South, adding to our coal production.You will provide CMJV site employees with administration, coordination & technical support of the training, assessing and compliance activities, function, and systems for site to ensure efficiencies and effective services are delivered to stakeholders.Duties will include:Supporting all Key Stakeholders as required in regard to Health and TrainingMaintain the onsite training database ensuring accuracy, quality and engagement to rectify identified gapsEnsure the LAAMP and OSTE Systems are functional and compliant in regards to site access and Contractor Management processesMaintain and facilitate the site induction process as well as maintain a site training calendarEnsure the scheduling of employees training courses are aligned with approved training budgets and Training Needs Analysis outlined in Training SchemeMaintain the required competencies of the SLT in line with RS22Implement and track approved Safety and/or Training Projects as requiredProvide support to frontline management to ensure training needs are maintained to a high standardAssist with the maintenance and review of the site SHMS Document Management SystemProvide reporting requirements associated with the training functionParticipate in Safety Interactions and maintain KPI complianceThe lifestyle:This position is offered on a 9-day fortnight (Monday to Friday, Monday to Thursday) roster and can allow for a residential (Moranbah or Nebo), DIDO or FIFO lifestyle. Employees living residentially may have access to a housing allowance and may have the ability to salary sacrifice up to 50% of rental payments.About you:The successful candidate will have the following:5 years’ experience working as a Training Specialist coordinating site Crew Trainers, in the Mining industry.Thorough knowledge of Coal Mining legislation and its application to the Training Scheme, Training Needs Analysis and SHMS.Experience with auditing of training systems, and dealing with RTOs and other External Stakeholders.Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 or higher) qualificationDemonstrated knowledge of relevant Vocational Education Training methodologies, strategies, principles and legislationRisk Management RIIRIS402 (G2) qualification and S1,2,3 Mining Supervisor competencyWorking knowledge of LAAMP, SAP, OSTE, Pegasus and working with paperless training systems is highly regardedHigh degree of high-risk training, permits, machinery and maintenance experience is desirableAbout Peabody:Peabody is a leading coal producer, providing essential products for the production of affordable, reliable energy & steel.
