We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Azure Virtual Desktop Migration Specialist to lead our Financial Services clients migration from Citrix to Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD). This role is crucial in ensuring a seamless transition, optimizing our virtual desktop infrastructure, and enhancing the user experience.Job Summary:
The Azure Virtual Desktop Migration Specialist will be responsible for planning, designing, implementing, and optimizing the migration from Citrix to Azure Virtual Desktop. The successful candidate will work closely with IT teams, stakeholders, and end-users to ensure a smooth transition, maintain high availability, and achieve performance goals.Key Responsibilities:Planning and Assessment:Conduct comprehensive assessments of the existing Citrix environment.Identify business requirements, goals, and objectives for the migration.Perform cost analysis and compare Citrix vs. AVD expenditures.Assess team skills and provide necessary training for AVD.Design:Design Azure infrastructure, including resource groups, virtual networks, and connectivity solutions.Develop a scalable and redundant architecture for AVD.Plan and implement FSLogix for user profile management.Ensure security and compliance requirements are met.Implementation:Set up and configure Azure infrastructure and AVD environment.Test application compatibility and package applications for deployment.Migrate user profiles and data to the new environment.Configure user access and permissions.Pilot Testing:Select and manage a pilot group for initial testing of the AVD environment.Collect feedback and make necessary adjustments based on pilot results.Full Migration:Communicate migration plans and timelines to users.Execute user data and profile migrations.Deploy necessary applications in the AVD environment.Gradually decommission Citrix infrastructure.Post-Migration:Monitor performance using Azure Monitor and other tools.Optimize resource allocation and user experience.Provide user training and support.Ensure continuous monitoring and maintenance of the AVD environment.Qualifications:Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.Proven experience in migrating from Citrix to Azure Virtual Desktop.Strong knowledge of Azure infrastructure, networking, and security.Experience with FSLogix or similar profile management solutions.Familiarity with MSIX app attach for application packaging and deployment.Excellent project management and communication skills.Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator) are a plus.
