Primary Counselor Stepping Stones - Covina
Primary Counselor position at our Stepping Stones residential treatment programs for Women and Women with Children (www.socialmodel.com). The Primary Counselor provides treatment services through individual counseling, group process, multi-family sessions, educational groups, recreational activities, and Withdrawal Management.Credential required (salary commensurate with experience and credential): SUD registered or certified.Role model appropriate healthy and ethical behaviors in all interactions, including HIPAA and Confidentiality standards.Maintain a primary caseload of participants, assisting and advocating for them in meeting their unique needs within the program structure.Develop a treatment plan for each participant on the caseload and evaluate their progress in meeting the goals and objectives within the treatment plan.Update the individual treatment plans, as appropriate, in a timely manner.Document the services provided according to standards set by the Agency and applicable County, State, and Federal regulations. Documentation should be clear, concise, and completed in a timely manner.If determined by the Program Director, maintain and update program curricula.Facilitate full utilization of service units, including Case Management, as directed by the supervisor.Assist with participant’s benefits (e.g. DPSS, SSI, Medi-Cal) application(s).Familiarity and adherence to all regulatory expectations and ethical standards and Agency policies and procedures, including the Agency’s Core Beliefs.Maintain constructive relationships with family members, community members and organizations, human services agencies, and other professionals.Assist in ensuring a safe and alcohol/drug-free environment.Perform all other duties as assigned.Company DescriptionSocial Model Recovery Systems (a non-profit 501(c)3 California corporation) provides direct treatment services (at 11 locations in Los Angeles County) for those whose lives have become unmanageable due to alcohol and other drug use and/or whose mental health issues are interfering with leading productive lives.
