Staff Attorney- Domestic Violence

New Mexico Legal Aid seeks a staff attorney for our Domestic Violence Unit in Albuquerque.For this position, the staff attorney will represent domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking victims regardless of income for orders of protection, divorce, custody, and guardianship cases so that they may lead safer, more financially secure lives.This position is based in the Albuquerque office. Occasionally travel will be required for court hearings.Additional Areas of Responsibility:Represent clients in orders of protection, divorce, custody, and guardianship cases.Requirements:Applicants must be a licensed NM attorney, obtain a license in New Mexico through reciprocity, or qualify for a limited license.Show a passion for working with survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking.Excellent written and oral communication skills.Be comfortable litigating cases in court.Must be able to multitask and manage a high caseload.Have computer skills including shared online workspaces and utilizing video conferencing.NMLA employees enjoy:Being unionizedA great work environmentGreat benefits including generous leaveCompetitive salary and benefits packageHow to Apply:The position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement.
