OverviewWe are seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice President/General Manager of the Managed Care channel to lead our organization's managed care strategy and overachieve the unit, revenue, and market share objectives associated with this channel.
The Vice President of Managed Care will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of Hearing Benefit Manager account management, managed care contracting, network development, and provider relations.
This role reports directly to the President, US Wholesale, Demant, is a part of the US Wholesale Leadership team, and plays a large part in developing overall US Wholesale strategy for the Oticon, Bernafon, and Philips hearing aid brands.
This position will be based out of our Somerset, NJ headquarters on a hybrid schedule (Mon-Wed in the office).
Responsibilities
Develop and execute the organization's managed care strategy to achieve revenue and unit growth, profitability, and best-in-class customer experience.
Lead negotiations with Hearing Benefit Manager organizations (HBMs) to secure favorable contracts, a higher Demant market share of HBM units, and improved profitability.
Manage all traditional managed care, vocational rehab, Medicaid, and workers compensation programs.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including HBM leadership, Hearing Care providers, professional organizations, and government agencies.
Direct the development and maintenance of provider networks, ensuring adequacy and alignment with organizational goals.
Monitor and analyze market trends, regulatory changes, and competitor strategies to identify opportunities and mitigate risks.
Collaborate with internal teams including finance, legal, operations, and audiology departments to implement managed care initiatives.
Execute in-field pull through initiatives to drive hearing aid sales through the managed care channel.
Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations related to managed care activities.
Prepare and present reports and recommendations to US and Global Demant Senior Leadership.
Develop the annual Managed Care strategic plan, financial budget, and commercial activity plan.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field required; Master’s degree (MBA) preferred; Hearing Care Industry experience preferred
Minimum of 10 years of sales leadership experience required; 5+ years of managed care sales and contracting preferred
Proven track record of successful negotiations and contract management in a healthcare/managed care setting
Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing teams
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills
Strategic thinker with the ability to translate complex ideas into actionable plans
Knowledge of healthcare reimbursement methodologies, regulatory requirements, and industry trends
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and drive change effectively
Ability to build and present C-suite level documents
