Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program is seeking a

full-time technician

to work in harm reduction roles at sedation monitoring programs in low-threshold shelters throughout the city.Technicians may be required to work at various harm reduction locations including the Engagement Center Clinic, SPOT, The RIZE Room, and in outreach settings.The ideal candidate should be compassionate, self-motivated, and committed to delivering high-quality clinical care using a harm reduction approach in a low-threshold community environment.Bilingual, Bicultural, LGBTQIA identifying, Black, Indigenous, and People of Color are encouraged to apply.Job Summary:

Hours:

Full Time, 7am – 7:30pm / 7pm - 7:30am - majority overnight shifts, with some day shifts available (additional 4-hour shifts at other threshold sites)The role involves providing low-threshold medical access, sedation monitoring, clinical assessments, case management, and immediate linkages to addiction treatment and primary care.Responsibilities:

Direct Clinical Care:Direct clinical care to meet patient needsFirst responder in medical emergenciesSupportive clinical care for patients with substance use disorderWound care, sedation assessment, risk reduction counseling, and treatment program connectionsAccurate documentation and maintenance of treatment recordsCommunication:Direct communication with staff and timely updates to supervisorsMaintaining professional and accurate recording standardsTeam Based Collaboration:Part of a team including various staff membersOpen to job sharingQualifications:

Commonwealth of Massachusetts EMT CertificationMinimum of 2 years EMT experience strongly preferredStrong assessment skills, self-directed, motivated, flexiblePharmacological understanding, opioid overdose management, substance use disorder knowledgeInterest in public health, primary care, working with disadvantaged groupsBilingual candidates and individuals with lived experience encouraged to applyCompensation and Benefits:
