Position Overview:The Executive Director of Ambulatory Nursing leads several distinct departments or sub-functions that significantly impact organization planning and operations. This role involves integrating and coordinating the operations of a major business unit.

Minimum Education:

Bachelors of Science in Nursing - BSN (Required)Master's Degree in Nursing, Business Administration, Hospital Administration, Public Administration or other related field (Preferred)

Minimum Work Experience:Minimum of 10 years of progressive related experience (Required)7 years supervisory/management experience in related job function (Required)

Required Skills/Knowledge:Expertise in the area of specialtyStrong knowledge of JCAHO and other regulatory agency requirementsDemonstrated leadership and management skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsExpertise in department budget and interpersonal communication

Functional Accountabilities:Plan, implement, direct and evaluate assigned departments on a strategic and operational levelImprove, build, maintain, and report on achievement of access goals, clinic efficiency, family and staff satisfactionDevelop a communication strategy to ensure effective communication of all department programsMonitor department processes and seek opportunities to improve operationsCollaborate with other executive directors to enhance services

Human Resources and Relationship Management:Assess and monitor organizational staffing requirementsDefine, set and utilize appropriate performance and quality measures

Budget and Financial Management:Prepare the department/service budgetEvaluate financial performance reports and develop financial plans

Performance Improvement/Research/Quality:Contribute to develop systems supporting standards of clinical practiceParticipate in research/quality improvement activities

Staff Development:Ensure staff development and education plansIdentify opportunities for enhancing professional/technical development

Professional Nursing Practice:Lead and advocate for strengthening nursing practiceParticipate in community activities to enhance professional nursing and collaborative practice
