IT Technician 2

Our team, supporting Military Sealift Command (MSC) has an immediate need for an IT Technician 2 with demonstrated experience providing general infrastructure support, including responding to and updating trouble calls utilizing REMEDY; performing break-fix troubleshooting and analysis of problems; and performing repair activities in order to return equipment, systems, or networks to normal operational status. Primary responsibilities include:Perform or assist with new installations and / or life cycle upgrades for shipboard ADP IT networks and equipmentProvide shipboard training to crew members as necessary for LAN and IT Equipment operationInterface and coordinate daily regarding planned activities with customer representatives, shipboard personnel, other contractors providing specialized LAN or network communications supportPrepare and provide daily work reportsRespond to queries for ad hoc data and network configuration and inventory reportsMust possess knowledge and/or skillset in the following areas:Windows Server (2008r2/2012/2016) /desktop Operating Systems (7/10)Virtualization technologies like VMWare Server/ESX or Microsoft Hyper-V/Virtual ServerActive Directory and Microsoft Exchange (2007/2010/2016)Migration from Exchange 2010 to Exchange 2016Active Directory/LDAP user and group administrationLAN Routing and Switching configuration and troubleshootingServer builds using server 2008r2 preferred 2016Cat5/fiberJob Requirements:Must possess or be able to possess IAT II, in coordination of IAWF DoD 8570.01MMust possess or be able to obtain an operating system certification that correlates to systems installed onboard MSC vesselsMust possess an active SECRET level security clearanceProgressive IT experience (5 years)
