About the team
The commerce industry has seen tremendous growth in recent years and has become a hotly contested space amongst leading Internet companies, and its future growth can not be underestimated. We aim to bring discovery, inspiration, and joy back to shopping by making TikTok the commerce channel of choice for merchants, creators, and affiliates. Our team is working on key business strategy planning and analytics. We are committed to bringing insights into daily operations, enabling executive teams to make strategic decisions, and keeping business on track with on-going data analytics.

TikTok is home to a new kind of shopping culture. Community Commerce blends community, entertainment, and shopping that makes product discovery so unique on TikTok. The TikTok community is having a catalytic and culture-defining impact on modern retail. We are looking for passionate and talented people to join our ecommerce strategy team.

Key responsibilities:
- Analyze E-Commerce businesses, focusing on traffic efficiency, user behavior, and merchant operations. Independently undertake special analyses on merchant growth, traffic conversion, creator/content growth, and user behavior.
- Monitor and analyze various operating indicators and drivers of the e-commerce operations team on a daily basis.
- Develop short-term and long-term scale and revenue targets.
- Establish a comprehensive indicator system and daily performance tracking mechanism.
- Provide regular reports and insights to facilitate data-driven decision-making.
- Track competition and identify opportunities based on e-commerce development characteristics and competitive methods.
- Leverage insights from analysis to make informed recommendations for future business strategies.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
- 5 years experience of strategic and analytical experience at leading management consulting firm and/or tech/ecommerce companies.
- Experience in e-commerce industry operation analysis, business analysis, data analysis, etc.
- Strong analytical skills and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills and can effectively handle cross-functional collaboration.
- Experience with external/syndicated databases (e.g., credit card, market data, etc.)
- Proficiency in SQL and Excel is a must.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Python, Tableau, and other data visualization tools.
- Experience with setting and defining GMV targets.
- Competitor Analysis: specific experience in equity research, public market investing (e.g., hedge fund, mutual fund), and/or corporate finance/sharehold value consulting.
- Take proactive initiative to identify operational challenges, analyze problems, and autonomously develop and implement innovative solutions, demonstrating a motivated self-starter attitude focused on continuous improvement.
