Recreational Therapist
PRN
PRN Rate: $27/hr

Responsibilities Seeking PRN Recreation Therapist to support our Inpatient Rehab and Day Neuro teams (both programs located on the same campus). Ideal candidates will have a medical recreation therapy experience with neurologic experience preferred. Candidates should be comfortable with and enjoy working with a variety of neurologic patient populations including TBI, CVA, incomplete SCI, etc., be able to handle a fast paced work setting, have good flexibility and strong team work skills. This candidate will work closely with the interdisciplinary team consisting of PT, OT, SLP, Neuropsychology, and Case Management to facilitate patient centered care. Typical responsibilities would include 1:1, group and co-treatments sessions, community outings, as well as opportunities to incoporate our facility dog into animal assisted sessions. In addition to supporting Day Neuro and Inpatient Rehab weekday staffing, this position will require 2 mandatory weekend shifts per month.
Job duties:
Plans and implements appropriate recreation activities for patients in accordance with guidelines set by the organization, hospital and the profession.
Responsible for the provision of therapeutic recreation intervention for an assigned case load.
Ensures all patients are oriented to recreation therapy and provides campus wide leisure, social and divergent programs.
Serves as an educator to patients on community resources.
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications
Baccalaureate Degree in Therapeutic Recreation required.
Current national certification from NCTRC as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) or eligible to take exam required.
Should have certified experience in a medical setting.
