The Senior Engineer plays a crucial role in developing and maintaining our nascent web app. You’ll be responsible for delivering high-quality code, mentoring junior developers, and contributing to architectural decisions. You’ll mentor junior developers as well as foster a culture of continuous learning across levels. You’ll help drive innovation within the web app team as well as collaborate closely with other teams at Ginger Labs.

This role is hybrid, 2+ days per week in the San Francisco office, and other days from home.

What You’ll Do:Architect, implement, and maintain features for our web applicationCollaborate with product managers and designers to translate requirements into technical specifications and implementationsWrite clean, efficient, and well-documented code that adheres to best practices and coding standardsConduct code reviews and provide thoughtful, growth-oriented feedback to team membersMentor junior developers and help them grow their technical skillsTroubleshoot and debug complex issues in both development and production environmentsFacilitate cross-team collaboration and communication to ensure alignment and effective problem-solvingExplore and evaluate new web technologies and methodologies to improve our development processes and product quality

What You Need:5+ years of professional software development experienceBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fieldStrong proficiency in React, TypeScript, and modern JavaScript developmentExperience with async/await, remote APIs, and state management best practicesFamiliarity with modern, efficient approaches to styling and layoutKnowledge of web performance optimization techniquesExcellent problem-solving skills and attention to detailStrong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environmentExperience breaking down large bodies of work to be collaborated on by several developersAbility to foster a culture of continuous learning and knowledge sharing

Bonus Qualifications:Experience with authentication patterns, web animations, advanced CSS, or rendering engines like Three.js or PixiJSInvolvement in the wider tech community through hackathons, blogging, or open-source contributions

For this position we are targeting a base pay between $160,000-$240,000. Actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
