Job Summary:We are seeking a dynamic and seasoned professional to join our executive team as the Vice President of Risk Management. This individual will play a crucial role in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks associated with our global operations, ensuring the stability and integrity of our financial and trading activities.Key Responsibilities- Risk Strategy and Leadership :Develop and implement comprehensive risk management strategies that align with the company's overall objectives and regulatory requirements.Provide strategic leadership and guidance on risk-related matters to the executive team and board of directors.Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of risk management frameworks and make necessary adjustments to ensure robustness.- Global Asset Tracking :Oversee the tracking and management of global assets, including minerals in the ground, ensuring accurate valuation and reporting.Implement advanced tracking systems and technologies to monitor asset locations, conditions, and market values.- Leverage and Trading Risk :Analyze and manage risks associated with leverage and trading activities, particularly within centralized exchanges (CEX).Develop risk metrics and models to assess potential exposure and ensure adherence to risk limits.Collaborate with trading teams to develop risk mitigation strategies and optimize trading performance.- Liquidity Pool Risk Management :Monitor and manage risks associated with our own liquidity pools.Work closely with our liquidity pool ecosystem, including hedge funds, banks, and other financial institutions, to assess and mitigate risks.Ensure effective risk management practices are in place for liquidity provision and withdrawal processes.- Client Risk Management :Evaluate and manage risks tied to clients’ mineral assets and trading activities.Ensure comprehensive due diligence and risk assessments for new and existing clients.Develop client-specific risk profiles and implement tailored risk management plans.- Personnel and Key Man Risk :Identify and mitigate risks related to personnel, including key man risks.Develop and implement succession planning and risk mitigation strategies for critical roles within the organization.- Regulatory Compliance :Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and standards, including those related to cryptocurrency trading and asset management.Stay informed about regulatory changes and advise the executive team on potential impacts and necessary actions.- Operational Risk :Identify, assess, and mitigate operational risks across all business functions.Implement risk controls and procedures to minimize the likelihood and impact of operational disruptions.- Data and Analytics :Leverage data analytics and intelligence tools to monitor risk indicators and trends.Utilize AI and machine learning to enhance risk assessment and predictive modeling capabilities.- Reporting and Communication :Prepare and present comprehensive risk reports to the executive team and board of directors.Foster a culture of risk awareness and communicate risk management practices across the organization.QualificationsProven experience in risk management within the finance, blockchain, or fintech industries.Strong understanding of global asset management, trading risks, leverage, and liquidity pools.Experience with centralized exchanges (CEX) and cryptocurrency trading environments.Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to develop and implement complex risk models.Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams and executive leadership.Bachelor's or advanced degree in Finance, Risk Management, Economics, or related field.Knowledge of regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements in the financial and cryptocurrency sectors.Proficiency in data analytics, AI, and machine learning applications in risk management.This is an outstanding opportunity for a results-driven professional looking to make a significant impact on our company's success.
