Position Summary:The Vice President of AI is responsible for working with business and corporate leaders to develop, articulate, and implement an AI strategy that drives top- and bottom-line performance while monitoring and managing AI-related risk. Reporting to the EVP of IT, Operations, and Data Analytics, this position will develop a consolidated AI roadmap, provide thought leadership and execution oversight, and ensure adequate governance is in place.Location:Chicago - Illinois - Wacker Remote - United StatesWhat will your job entail?What You Will Do:• Develop, articulate, and execute an AI strategy that is focused on top- and bottom-line growth while managing risk.• Monitor the external landscape to understand trends and competitive positioning.• Establish effective change management and communication, including training of executives and teammates on AI.• Partner with business and corporate leaders to develop a roadmap and investment plan, including identification and prioritization of use cases across the value chain.• Collaborate with IT, operations, and data analytics teams on the selection and implementation of AI tools and capabilities.• Oversee the development and deployment of AI models and algorithms, monitoring and evaluating AI models' performance.• Develop partnerships and collaborations with vendors, universities, research institutions, and industry thought leaders to explore and implement innovative AI solutions.• Design and implement strategic projects on behalf of the executive team.• Ensure compliance with data protection and privacy regulations, instantiating a responsible AI framework and governance structure.• Establish measures, metrics, KPIs and reporting to monitor attainment of goals and adherence to standards and controls.What You Will Bring:• Leadership and executive management skills to drive the AI strategy and execution.• Meaningful value-oriented mindset vs. technology-only-oriented mindset.• Knowledge of AI technologies, including machine learning, natural language processing, generative AI, and predictive analytics.• Strategic understanding of AI technology, velocity of advancement, growth, and future trajectory.• Perspective on AI operating systems and implementation strategies.• Problem-solving and analytical skills to identify AI use cases and recommend effective solutions.• Ability to effectively communicate complex AI concepts and solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.• Knowledge of data management and integration principles, as well as data privacy and security best practices.Preferred Prior Experience:• 10+ years of experience in AI, machine learning, or related fields.• Proven track record of leading and delivering successful AI initiatives or programs.• Prior experience in executive roles within the financial services industry, driving data analytics or technology-driven transformation initiatives.Ryan Specialty is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
