What This Position Is All About:
The Director, Ecommerce is responsible for driving the performance and merchandising strategy of the total category to deliver sales and gross margin objectives. Strategies will be supported by analysis of metrics and current market trends thereby delivering and executing actionable insights, analyses and recommendations for both short and long term strategies for the ecommerce business.
As the Manager, E-Commerce Merchandising you will:
Category Strategy
Support DVP, Digital to achieve the sales and margin plans of the product category through analysis and development of targeted action plans and partnership with merchant team,Lead strategy for onsite customer experience including assortment guidelines, content, product boosting and navigational changesUnder direction of the DVP, Digital help support the conceptualization, prioritization and calendarization of digital content/editorial, email and paid mediaPresent seasonal strategies in sync with merchants for each buying office under your scope of ownershipReporting & Analysis
Tracks and analyzes sales and inventory performance and executes on findings to improve resultsIn partnership with Site Merchandising team, provide upcoming merchant priorities and present data to drive consistent refinement and taxonomy refreshes; interpret and react to metrics to help drive site content strategiesAnalyze the purchase and conversion funnel to better optimize the customer journeyAnalyze site logistic reports, inclusive of the Not-On-Site report, and partner with Digital Operations and Item Set Up teams teams to optimize business and resolve issuesPrepares materials for regular business meetings, monthly open-to-buy, and seasonal category strategy. Materials include sales results, inventory, site analytics, SKU information, upcoming launches and promotions, corrective actions, etc.Team Collaboration
Work closely with Digital Strategy team to present and influence merchant strategies for weekly content, editorial and emailCollaborates with merchants, planners, marketing, social, and HBC Digital to execute business strategiesWork in close partnership with Dropship team to drive category growth and assortment expansionServe as business lead for the ownership and execution of digital projectsLead, mentor & develop direct reportsWho You Are:

BA/BS Degree5-7 years of experience in ecommerce and/or buying/planning with 1+ years managerial experienceFamiliarity with site analytics tools (e.g., Omniture, Google Analytics, Coremetrics) and with content management toolsTechnical aptitude with web-based tools and proficiency with Microsoft Office SuiteMust demonstrate business acumen and analytical skillsHave an understanding of and passion for digital retail landscapeAbility to multitask and achieve deadlines in an efficient, timely, and accurate mannerThe pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $100,000 and $130,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits), dependent on the position offered.
