As our firm continues to grow, we continue to be on the lookout for the next great designer; you. We are currently seeking a Senior Designer I to join our Landscape Architecture team in our Dallas office. Candidates in this role will provide design and technical support to the design studio by applying comprehensive understanding, proficiency in the profession and exercising judgment within defined procedures to solve problems. Candidates should also demonstrate proficiency in project ownership and execution while guiding and mentoring Designers I and II.
Key Responsibilities:
Efficiently prepare digital and hand drawings as needed to communicate master plan, design elements, and site features.Support in writing proposals, change orders and developing fee budgets.Create project plans and align project plans with project fee budget.Ensure legibility and clean communication of construction documents.Demonstrate consistent expertise in technical aspects of construction drawings.Provide preliminary internal Quality Control review of plans in coordination with project lead.Participate in and may lead client and regulatory review meetings.Prepare meeting minutes.Develop and/or assist in the development of written specifications.Advise client and team on next steps and ensure successful outcomes.Independently participate in CA activities.Ensure quality of planting design in regional context of the project.Execute accurate grading plan.Support and begin to lead the Design Studio to develop and advance creative design concepts for clients and projects.Support public outreach and collaboration efforts as required by project assignments.Conduct project research and precedent studies, ordinance review, and prepare site reviews and analyses.Efficiently prepare CAD documentation, project concept design packages, and construction documentation and permit drawing sets.Develop and demonstrate accuracy in drawing sets.Demonstrate the ability to consistently meet project goals and deadlines.Assist in editing technical written specifications.Build knowledge around plant materials and understand how to properly specify plant materials for planting schedules.Take initiative to explore current graphic standards and building construction methods.Build up knowledge of construction and best practices.Participate in construction phase services activities with the ability to undertake multiple size projects that range in complexity.Collaborate with internal design team of civil engineers, planners, contractors, and client's consultant teams involved in the project.Represent LandDesign in design team meetings and speak confidently to project understanding.Participate in the development and enhancement of daily processes and practices in support of project efficiency.Train and mentor Designers I + II.Qualifications:
Bachelors or Master's Degree in Landscape Architecture or related field of study.Actively pursuing or have achieved professional licensure.Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Adobe Creative Suite and modeling programs such as Sketch-Up, Lumion etc. Microsoft Office Suite and VantagePoint.Strong verbal and written communication skills.
