The Dana-Farber Cancer Institute seeks a

Postdoctoral Research Fellow

with a focus in epidemiology and biostatistics who will work within the Wolpin-Nowak and Ng laboratories as part of the Hale Family Center for Pancreatic Cancer Research ( http://halecenter.dfci.harvard.edu ) and the Lustgarten Foundation Pancreatic Cancer Research Laboratory at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute ( https://www.lustgarten.org/research/our-lab/ ). The Wolpin-Nowak laboratory focuses on risk stratification, early diagnosis, and personalized medicine approaches for pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). One of the primary missions of the laboratory is to interrogate epidemiologic factors that contribute to the development of PDAC and understand patient outcomes based upon clinical and tumor based factors. The Ng laboratory is focused on the epidemiology and new therapies for colorectal cancer. The Wolpin-Nowak and Ng laboratories seek a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to advance research in these areas within the laboratory and in collaboration with others within the Hale Center and DFCI-Lustgarten Dedicated Laboratory. Design and implement studies to evaluate determinants of pancreatic cancer risk and outcomes. Collaborate with other laboratory members with expertise in epidemiology, biostatistics, pathology, molecular biology, and functional genomics. Conduct analyses using statistical software, such as SAS, R, and others. Participate in group meetings and work collaboratively on larger projects with other group members. Generate data for figures and tables to serve as the basis of published manuscripts. Write manuscripts describing research results. Write grants and progress reports related to research funding. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: Strong background in epidemiology and statistics. Experience managing and analyzing large datasets. Experience in oncology research would be an advantage. Strong commitment to cancer research is required. High level of dedication to work. Ability to work independently and perform troubleshooting when needed. Must have excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and work with a wide variety of faculty and staff. Ability to analyze information and use logic to address work-related issues and problems. Attention to detail and thoroughness in completing work tasks. Ability to work within a team environment. Adaptability to a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Multitasking essential.

Candidates should hold a doctoral degree in epidemiology, biostatistics, or related fields. Multidisciplinary training and experience in multiple of these fields is desirable. MD or MD-equivalent and PhD-holding candidates will both be considered.
