Position is working all oncology nursing duties in an Hematology/Oncology Medical Group.Summary:Position: Oncology Nurse for Hematology/Oncology Group in San Bernardino!Schedule: Tuesdays and Thursdays 8-5pm, flexible schedule/as neededLocation: San Bernardino, CA. 92404Pay Rate Range: $45-$50 per hourJob Type: Part-time/as neededResponsibilities: Responsible for coordinating, ensuring and supervising Nursing care, current standards of nursing practice, and Physicians orders. Responsible for maintaining schedules and staffing of nursing Monitoring and maintaining drug products as needed to administer patient treatments as ordered. Responsible for maintaining supplies necessary for the administration of intravenous chemotherapy treatments. Performing patient phlebotomy, providing patient assessment and vital signs Maintaining the organizational policies in an outpatient or specialty Knowledge of administration, schedule, dose and route of chemo drugs Correct documentation appropriate to patients. Conduct regular evaluations and record symptoms of patients Perform procedures such as; IV placement, phlebotomy, medication administration Notifying Physicians of patient complaints and complications between treatments; receiving and carrying out Physicians orders, Notifying patients and/or family members of Physician orders and contacting Pharmacies to order drugs or treatments as necessary. Monitor lab results and feport abnormal results to the Physician as appropriate. Receive and document Physician orders regarding lab results and report results and Physician orders to patients as appropriate. Position Requirements Requirements: A current RN license Knowledge of chemotherapy types and classifications Knowledge of disposal of chemotherapy supplies and drugs in a safe, appropriate method. Knowledge of pain management related to cancer diagnosis and chemotherapy effects Knowledge of analgesics, narcotics, anti-inflammatory medications, and other medications as indicated. Knowledge of appropriate patient response to chemotherapy drugs, patient safety, emergency preparedness and response to patient emergencies. Knowledge of signs and symptoms of N infiltration with special attention to vesicant drugs, which can cause extravasationsHALO Staffing Group works with the largest and best hospital systems and offers top-pay and full benefits.
