8 West is a 28 bed Adult ICU Stepdown Unit that services a wide range of patients requiring higher intermediate care. The population of patients provides staff with great opportunities to learn and grow skills due to the variety of diagnoses. 8 ICU Stepdown has its own floor Pharmacist to assist with all med orders and home going med teaching, its own floor Mobility Aid and Patient Care Liaison.New Grad RNs who accept a position with Parma 8 are eligible for a $3,000 sign-on bonus and the Loan Repayment program offering up to $15,000. Position SummaryProvides safe efficient age specific nursing care to patients/families using the nursing process in order to assist them to attain, maintain, regain, and sustain optimal health status.Essential FunctionsImplements the nursing process by delivering effective relationship based nursing care.Demonstrates technical skills in care delivery that result in safe practice and positive care outcomes.Demonstrates clear communication and effective collaboration to optimize patient care and clinical operations.Develops self and contributes to the professional practice of nursing.Displays leadership that influences optimal clinical and operational outcomes.

Qualifications

EducationOther Accredited Program Diploma in Nursing or(ADN) Associate's Degree in Nursing Required(BSN) Bachelor's Degree in Nursing Preferred(MSN) Master's Degree in Nursing Preferred

Knowledge, Skills, & AbilitiesKnowledge of nursing process and practice requiredUse of a wide variety of technical equipment to meet patient needs and prescribed clinical therapies (ie. stethoscopes, thermometers, sphygmomanometers and electronic monitoring devices required.

Licenses and CertificationsRegistered Nurse (RN) in the State of Ohio Required Upon Hire.Basic Life Support (BLS) Required During Orientation.Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) May be required based on clinical area standards.Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) May be required based on clinical area standards.
