Qualified candidates will demonstrate project management experience, including prior supervisory experience. This includes development and oversight of research workflow processes, budget management, maintenance of collaborative relationships across multiple divisions within the Department as well as other College entities, and preparation and submission of research reports. The research project manager will be responsible for following recommended approaches to assigned work to facilitate achievement of desired results; practicing positive approaches to problem solving; and evaluating recommended changes/improvements to quality improvement processes, procedures, policies and plans. Other responsibilities may include exploring funding opportunities and instituting resulting strategic imperatives; reviewing the completed work of others to verify technical soundness and adherence to deadlines; coaching, mentoring students, and motivating staff in a fair and consistent manner to achieve goals; representing department research interests at meetings; and writing regular departmental research reports.
