Department Summary:

The Mission Enabled Software Systems Department in the Software Engineering Innovation Center is seeking a Lead Engineer to support its diverse technical work program. This individual will have an opportunity to have an impact across a number of sponsor outcomes, influence strategic direction, and identify and shape new opportunities. They will also provide mentorship to junior engineers and provide technical leadership across key outcomes.

Selected candidate will be submitted for a DoD Secret clearance.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Technical impact and leadership in one of our many technical domains.

Contribute directly to sponsor work programs in a strategic level through direct contributions, influence, and strategic work shaping.

Mentor and grow engineers at Department and Division level, and in partner organizations to support their increased impact.

Active in creating new opportunities and work shaping.

Work with sponsors and project leads to understand their needs and future vision.

Develop position papers, publications, and proposals to establish technical stature.

Basic Qualifications:

BA/BS in computer science, software engineering, or related field and 8+ years' experience in software engineering or related field; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience

Must be familiar with cybersecurity development including system testing & evaluation and verification & validation.

Hands on expertise and willingness to develop software is required.

Experience managing projects and/or experience as a direct supervisor / group lead.

Ability to obtain and maintain Secret clearance.

Experience developing work programs, shaping work programs, and creating sponsor relationships, especially as related to cyber software engineering, intel, public sector, and/or DOD cyber work programs.

5+ years' experience in modern software engineering tools and techniques

Preferred Qualifications:

Preference given to qualified candidates with active Secret clearance.
