Python developer Maryland (Remote)

Project Overview:

Support team missions including software development, rapid prototyping, standards development, and research and development of new technologies

Responsibilities/Job Description: • Design, plan, and develop data driven applications • Design, plan, and develop data processing functionality • Write python code for AWS services like Glue, EMR, SageMaker, and other technologies for large data processing jobs • Identify, research, and create standards and standards documentation • Provide demos and training to EAD staff to facilitate forward progress in the adoption of new technologies and new standards

Please list a few tasks that will need to be completed as soon as the personnel starts: • Develop a Proof of Concept in SageMaker to replace or enhance the legacy application • Reimplement legacy data processing code in SAS and other languages into python • Create custom and reusable pip plugins for Flask and Django to support operations

Experience:

Python - 4yrs • AWS - 4yrs (certificate preferred) • Relational Databases (Postgress, MySQL, Oracle) - 4yrs • Backend web development fundamentals (Django, Flask) - 2yrs GV
