Hours/Shift:Full-time, dayshift, 7am to 7pmDepartment/Position Overview:2 West is a 34-bed medicine unit with a primary cardiac focus. Our team works with hospitalists and cardiologists to care for the congestive heart failure, angina, STEMI/NSTEMI and arrhythmia patients. We recover patients who have just undergone cardiac catheterizations, pacemaker insertions, ablations, and cardioversions. Aside from the awesome care we provide, we have an amazing and diverse team of nurses and patient care technicians. We are committed to excellent patient care and patient satisfaction. We work well together as a team to take care of our patients, but also have fun and take care of each other. 2 West is a work of HEART and we would love for you to join our work family!As a Patient Care Technician with Sentara, you will have the opportunity to learn many new skills. From taking vitals to blood draws and daily care. The primary duties of this position include supporting the admission/discharge process, changing, bathing ambulating patients, drawing blood, foley catheter care, meeting patient needs while working under the direct supervision of a nurse.
