Job Description

Under the general supervision of the Chief Nursing Officer, the Director of Nursing- Quality Improvement/Assurance and Innovation is responsibility for the administrative and operational oversight of performance improvement, and quality outcomes in all Nursing and Patient Care areas.

Independently leads, designs, manages, and executes improvement initiatives through all project phases, able to effectively manage multiple concurrent projects in all Patient care departments.Uses project management skills to: develop project plan and timeline fir improvement projects; effectively track deliverable and delegate tasks, coordinate project summary presentations, and maintain oversight of all project related tasks necessary for project success.Responsible for the quality assurance regulatory and professional standards of care.Performs other duties as assignedMinimum Qualifications1. Licensed and currently registered to practice as a Professional Nurse in New York State; and,2. A Master's Degree in Nursing Administration or an equivalent field, and a minimum of four years of high-level responsible experience in nursing administration, three years of which shall have been in a hospital; or,3. A satisfactory equivalent. However, all candidates must be licensed and currently registered to practice as a Professional Nurse in New York State.

Department Preferences

Previous experience as Quality Assurance role preferred

Excellent communication (both oral and written), interpersonal, organization, presentation skills

3 + years of Nursing experience in an Acute care hospital

Previous experience as Quality Assurance role preferred

Preferred experience in process analysis, data analysis, data analysis, project management and facilitation

Certification or working knowledge of Six Sigma, Lean methodologies preferred

Certified Professional Healthcare Quality Certification (CPHQ) preferred upon hire or attain within 1 year of hire to maintain continued employment

Strong attention to detail

Highly organized, ability to work independently
