Our our NICU Team at St. Anthony North Hospital

Our unit is unique because all of our NICU nurses function in the transition and postpartum role. This allows for a very cohesive and close team! We staff two NICU RNs on every shift. If we have zero babies in the NICU we still have one NICU RN in house. If we have even one NICU baby then both are in house. Typical NICU assignment is 1-3 babies per nurse. Postpartum 1-3 couplets and transition is catching and transitioning babies after delivery. We will thoroughly train you and make sure you are comfortable and competent!

We have a 5 bed level 2 NICU, and are able to care for babies 32 weeks and older. Envision is our Neonatologist/APP group. The APP (NNP/PA/Pediatric hospitalist) is in house 24/7 and the Neo rounds daily but is OC if needed at any time. Due to the structure and size of our NICU and fluctuations in NICU census, the NICU team is expected to cross train to PP and the transition RN role. You will receive an orientation to that role and we will support your learning needs to ensure you feel comfortable coming off orientation.Qualifications:In addition to bringing humankindness to the workplace each day, qualified nursing candidates will need the following:Education RequirementsAssociates Degree in Nursing required; Nursing Diploma or by endorsementBachelors Degree in Nursing preferredGraduate of an accredited School of Nursing required for new graduates, preferred for experienced RNsExperience RequirementsOne year experience preferredNursing skills and knowledge base specific to specialtyOne year NICU RN experience preferredLicenses/Certification RequirementsRN License required; Current state nursing licenses or valid RN license from a participating state in the National Licensure CompactPhysical RequirementsMedium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)SCHEDULE: 3 x 12 hour/shifts. 7 PM - 7 AM, 6 weekend shifts in 6 weeks.
