NON-CDL Driver/Warehouse Team Member/VMI Stocker

(40hrs +per week depending on business volume)
Job Summary:
The employee in this position will be responsible for receiving stock, recording information about product and preparing it for shipment to the end user, delivering product and stocking it onsite at the customer location. Ability to lift a minimum of 35 pounds to lift and position material into holders of machine/bins/shelving. Work environment warehouse, plant or production areas with periods of continue standing or walking. The ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing is required. Scanner, computer and inventory control experience are a plus.
Job Functions (Duties, Responsibilities, and Requirements):
The primary duties consist of, but are not limited to, the following:Follow safety rules and work procedures.Drives truck (non-CDL) to transport materials to and from specified destinations by applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and area roads.Operate a forklift to load/unload truck when necessaryPrepares receipts for load picked up. May maintain truck log, according to state and federal regulations.Maintains telephone with supervisor to receive delivery instructions.Position blocks and/or tie rope around items to secure cargo during transit.May load and unload truck; inspect truck equipment and supplies, such as tires, lights, brakes, fuel, oil, and other fluids; and/or perform emergency roadside repairs, such as changing tires, wiper blades, and/or light bulbsCleans work area or vehicle.Receive and count stock items, and record data by scanner, manually or using computer.Pack and unpack items to be stocked on shelves in stockrooms, warehouses, or storage yards.Prepare and load orders onto delivery truckDeliver product and stock onsite for customerVerify inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts of stock and investigate discrepancies or adjust errors.Store items in an orderly and accessible manner in warehouses, tool rooms, supply rooms, or other areas.Mark stock items using identification tags, or adhesive labelsClean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas in order to ensure compliance with safety regulations.Determine proper storage methods, identification, and stock location based on turnover, environmental factors, and physical capabilities of facilities.Keep records on the use and/or damage of stock or stock handling equipment. Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to supervisors
Physical/Cognitive Demands
This is largely a physically active role including walking long distances (over uneven surfaces) to/within our production facility, lifting 50lbs or more, and standing for long periods. Position also requires bending, stooping, squatting or standing as necessary. Cognitive abilities required include deductive reasoning, information ordering, oral comprehension, oral expression, problem sensitivity, written comprehension, and written expression.
