MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university. Experience with Microsoft SQL Server Platform.

Experience with Data Warehousing concepts: star schema, fact and dimensional tables, slowly changing dimensions and data marts. Knowledge of software development and user interface web applications.

GOAL

Design, develop, manage and maintain the district's database resources.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Assist in building and maintaining database structures, ETL processes, stored procedures, audit reports, data extracts, etc. to meet project objectives. Develop and maintain dashboards, business reports and data analytics using Microsoft systems and tools. Participate in backup and recovery strategy planning and implementation. Participate and recommend data security best practices including data encryption, data access prevention and data access logging/monitoring. Optimize database systems to ensure data quality and integrity while ensuring performance efficiency. Create complex functions, scripts, stored procedures and triggers to support application development. Participate in database design and architecture to support application development projects. Troubleshoot database related issues in a timely fashion. Provide training and develop technical and instructional manuals. Provide data management support to users. Research and suggest new database products, services and protocols. Initiate and execute discovery meetings to understand end user requirements to design efficient solutions. Maintain strong communication channels with district-level departments and schools. Serve on district committees as assigned. Perform and promote all activities in compliance with equal employment and nondiscrimination policies of Cherokee County School System. Professionally represent the Cherokee County School District at meetings, conferences and conventions. Interact effectively with the general public, staff members, students, teachers, parents and administrators, using tact and good judgment. Possess and maintain valid and appropriate license, certificate and/or credential as may be required for this position. Follow work scheduling and attendance requirements in a regular, predictable and punctual manner. Participate in training programs to increase skills and proficiency related to assignments. Review current developments, literature and technical sources of information related to job responsibility. Ensure adherence to good safety procedures. Follow federal and state laws, as well as School Board policies. Perform other duties as assigned.
