Pre-Op/PACU Registered Nurse

Job Description:The Job: Assesses patients, plans care, serves as patient advocate and assures optimal outcomes.Work Schedule: Full-Time DaysFull time, 4 - 10 hour shifts . Monday - Friday There is PACU call with 2 shifts from 2100-0700 and 2-24 hour shifts on either Saturday or SundayResponsibilities:The Registered Nurse will provide perioperative patient care.Reviewing the patient chart by becoming familiar with orders including but not limited to lab orders and results, radiology orders and results, H & P's and updates, consentsExplaining procedures/treatment/discharge to patient and family members to alley apprehension and to verify understanding of procedure/discharge.Documenting patient assessment in the electronic patient record, and nursing care plan.Administering prescribed medications.Preparing Pre-OP/PACU - I and II for needed supplies and equipmentMaintaining awareness of patient's safety needs at all timesAssisting with patient's transfer of care from the OR Requirements:Basic Life SupportRegistered NurseAdvanced Cardiac Life SupportBachelor's degree in Nursing.State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).Minimum Experience: 2 years of Pre-Op/PACU experiencePosition Urgency:Rapid Response CrisisShifts:Full-TimeState License Details:Must Be Currently ActiveMinimum Years of Experience:2Minimum Guaranteed Hours:40Specialty Type:NursingSub Specialty:Pre-Op, Post Anesthesia Care Unit Nurse (PACU), PerioperativeBilingual:NoEMR Used:No ListingHoliday Coverage Required:No
