The Licensed Practical Nurse Specialty serves the patient, the physician and other staff members by assisting in the delivery of specialty health care and patient care management.
Primary Responsibilities:
* Prepare patients for examination and treatment. Take patient histories and vital signs* Prepare exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments. Prepare and maintain supplies and equipment for treatments* Ensure all instruments are properly sterilized* Provide Pre and Post Operation patient education. Monitor patients post procedure* Incorporate nursing theory to deliver care* Give injections and apply splints and dressings* Assist physicians in preparing for minor surgeries and procedures* Perform selected nursing and administrative duties* Remove sutures. Provide minor wound care* Maintain the patient file, records and other information* Maintain patient confidentiality* Attend staff meetings as required* Maintain strictest confidentiality* Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
* Graduate of accredited nursing school* Current Oregon LPN license* Healthcare provider level BLS/CPR certification, or the ability to obtain certification within 30 days of employment* 1+ year of professional nursing experience
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with surgical procedures* Experience with an electronic medical record system
