To ensure that our patients receive the care they need we are adding to our Endoscopy Technician team. Can you help us? Here's what you'll do:

· Assist Physicians side by side during Endoscopy procedures with focus on advanced Endoscopy Procedures (G.I. & Pulmonary services)

· Welcome and prepare patients for their procedures by confirming patient identification & positioning for procedure

· Prepare equipment for procedures and is responsible for turnover of the procedure room(s)

· Assist in clean up, replenishes supplies and confirms all equipment is functioning optimally

· Collect specimens obtained during procedure, accurately labeled, and brought to the lab

· Maintain endoscopy equipment and notifies Clinical Engineering of malfunctioning equipment

How can you become an ENDOSCOPY TECHNICIAN at SUNY Upstate? It's easy! You can qualify for this important role if you:

· Are able to stand for long periods at a time and able to adapt to unpredictable situations within the patient care setting

· Obtain CPR-BLS certification by the time of appointment

· Have prior experience as a technician in the medical field, ideally in Endoscopy or other medical/surgical subspeciality

· Endoscopy Technician certification required by time of appointment or within 2 years of start date

The most highly qualified candidates may have some or all the following:

· Endoscopy Technician certification

· CPR-ACLS certification

· Familiarity with digestive tract and respiratory disease processes

· Experience with advanced endoscopy procedures

· Associates degree in healthcare-related field

Hours are Monday-Friday between the hours of 8:00am-7:00pm with on call requirements weekends and holidays
