The position oversees Transportation functions related to patients who are transferred to and from the facility via the facility van and ensures maintenance of transportation vans and efficiency of the Transportation department. The Senior Van Driver reports department and patient issues to the Director of Plant Operations, as needed, attends leadership functions within the hospital and ensures overall quality. The position provides direct patient care to pedicatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.Job Code: 100102License or Certification: - Valid driver's license appropriate for the heaviest class vehicle to be driven - Current CPR and First Aid Certification Education, Training and Years of Experience: - High school diploma or GED preferred - Previous transportation experience required - Must be 25 years of age Machines, Equipment Used: - General office equipment such as telephone, copy machine, fax machine, calculator, computer. Physical Requirements: - Good visual acuity and ability to communicate. - Ability to lift, lower, push, pull, and retrieve objects weighing a minimum of 30 pounds. Reasonable assistance may be requested when lifting, pushing, and/or pulling are undertaken which exceeds these minimum requirements. Compliance: - Adheres to the company's Standards of Business Conduct. - Maintains current licensure and/or certifications, if applicable. Skills and Abilities: - Ability to speak, read, write, and communicate effectively. - Ability to coordinate, analyze, observe, make decisions, and meet deadlines in a detail-oriented manner. - Ability to work independently without supervision.
