POSITION SUMMARY:
The Bus Driver (CDL) is responsible for operating buses in the provision of transportation services to passengers with regard to their safety, confidence and comfort. Must obey all applicable local, State and Federal laws and regulations.
PROGRAM RESPONSIBILITES:Operates vehicle maintaining high safety standards and passenger confidence.Follows established route and schedule in a timely manner.Responsible for accurate communication pertaining to changes in passenger itinerary.Records and reports transportation data, as required.Checks all fluid levels and inspects vehicle daily in accordance to manufacturer specification qualifications. Informs immediate supervisor as soon as possible of any malfunctions and needed repair.Maintains proper vehicle appearance and cleanliness, inside and out including possessing sensitivity to vehicle performance and limitations.Responsible for operating proper communications of the two-way radio system.Presents a positive image to the general public.Operates in accordance with route cancellation procedures.Uses own discretion in operating during adverse weather conditions and informs immediate supervisor of such conditions.Reports incidents/accidents as soon as they occur to the immediate supervisor, Director or proper authorities. Adheres to all emergency procedures.Reports breakdown to dispatcher and immediate supervisor. Adheres to breakdown procedures.Responsible for following and adhering to charter regulations, if applicable.Operates under the Agency's Drug and Alcohol Policies for safety-sensitive employees.Assists passengers with disabilities.AGENCY RESPONSIBILTIIES:

Adhere strictly to the confidentiality of clients, co-workers, and internal business information.Present a professional and positive image as a representative of CAPBM.Follow established policies and procedures and comply with all safety requirements.Communicate proactively with the supervisor regarding workflow, problems, suggestions, etc.Contribute to a positive, team-oriented work environment; and attend team and staff meetings as scheduled.Be punctual for scheduled work, use time appropriately, and complete work in a timely fashion with minimal errors.Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience:
One year of bus driving experience, including transporting passengers.Ability to be polite and courteous at all times in dealing with passengers and negotiating traffic.Education:
High school diploma or equivalency credential.License/Certification:
Successful completion of criminal record and driver record checks.Valid NH CDL-B with passenger and air brake endorsements.Valid NHDOT medical card.Complete driver training courses within required timeframe and have obtained a Certificate of Completion. (Defensive Driving, Passenger Assistance and Emergency Evacuation).Must pass Agency Drug & Alcohol pre-employment testing to be qualified. Required to participate in random drug and alcohol testing as established by Agency Drug & Alcohol policies for safety sensitive employees.Access to reliable transportation for required travel.
