Summary:

To receive, store, stock and sell packaged liquor in a state liquor store; perform related work.

Responsibilities:

1. Liquor sales

Greets customers and answers questions regarding product content, use and priceObserves customers, checks identification for proof-of-age and denies service to underage or intoxicated customersReceives payments by cash, check or credit card and makes changeReceives and verifies licensed-bar ordersOperates computerized cash register system to process sales dataCloses out cash register and balances receipts to sales journal2. Stocking

Receives and verifies shipments Inspects and documents freight damagesDetermines stocking needs, codes merchandise and arranges shelf and floor displays3. Store operations

Acts for manager during absencesOpens and closes store and maintains securityBalances daily receipts with daily sales reports and makes bank depositsReconciles discrepanciesEnters merchandise data into computer system to update files and generate reportsMay supervise work and train other clerksRecommends product merchandising, inventory levels and new product listingsPrepares sales summary reportsPerforms routine cleaning and maintenance of store areasDetailed responsibilities:Minimum Qualifications:

Must be 19 years of age to sell liquor per Idaho CodeExperience adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing whole numbers and decimalsReading instructions written in English.

*Referred lists will be pulled periodically and the job posting will be left open continuously. This is a part-time non-benefitted position for applicants looking to work under 20 hours per week. Applicants who apply to this posting may be eligible to convert to a benefitted full or part-time position at this location upon successful completion of 1,040 credited state service hours if a position is available.
