Shenandoah Community Health is seeking a Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Physician that will serve as Director of Primary Care, for our Martinsburg, WV location. An eligible candidate must be an experienced MD or DO, licensed or eligible for license in WV, have an active DEA Certification, and a current board certification. The practice currently includes Family Practice Physicians, Pediatricians, Internal Medicine Physicians, and Nurse Practitioners. The role of Director is full-time with dedicated time to both leadership duties (40%) and patient care (60%).

We are a Primary Care Medical Home and provide a wide range of coordinated healthcare services, SCH offers WIC Nutrition programs; HIV case management; an on-site pharmacy; lab and x-ray services; outreach nursing to migrant and seasonal farmworkers and the homeless; medication assistance; assistance with ACA Marketplace and Medicaid enrollment; Weight & Wellness, diabetes management; breastfeeding support and substance abuse programs; and family resources.

Roles & Responsibilities: Director of Primary Care

Professional Leadership

Leads the clinical staff in providing a positive and proactive image focused on ensuring the long term viability of the site and service, the provision of quality compassionate care, and a constructive relationship with other providers of clinical services in the community. 2. Serves as the spokesperson for the clinical staff and advises senior leadership regarding needed

changes and or the impact of changes to address retention, productivity, patient satisfaction,

clinical quality and profitability.

3. Provides leadership and direction in the development of strategies to promote the recruitment,

retention, and recognition of excellent clinical staff.

4. Guides clinical staff in the attainment of SVMS accepted Health, Business Plan, and operating

budget goals.

Guides and assists clinical staff in meeting clinical performance benchmarks as identified in and by the UDS, Meaningful Use, HEDIS, and various insurance payers. 2. Provides day-to-day guidance to clinical staff on clinical matters, as needed.

3. Responds to clinical questions from staff.

4. Conducts performance and Peer reviews as appropriate for credentialing and re-credentialing.

5. Conducts chart reviews on Mid-Level Providers.

Address issues when needed and keeps Chief Medical Officer informed. Seeks guidance from and makes recommendations to the SCH Chief Medical Officer regarding resolution of clinical issues. Provides clinical input to the annual Health and Business Plans, and operating budget. Guides programs and reviews as necessary to ensure the provision of quality, timely, and compassionate care, and achievement, to the extent embraced by SVMS, of Joint Commission, NCQA, Meaningful Use, and Patient Centered Medical Home goals. Participates in selection process of new providers. Clinical lead in ACO performance based incentive programs.

Operations Leadership

1. Works with department leadership to ensure clinical coverage and availability meets patient needs.

2. Attends and contributes to department business meeting.

3. Coordinates and leads department provider meetings

4. Works closely with department leadership to ensure, evaluate, and make changes to day-to-day operations and process within the department.

5. Address patient and staff issues or complaints when needed.

6. Responsible for preparing, posting, updating provider call schedules.

7. Other duties as needed and appropriate for a lead clinician.
