What You'll Do:
Trainee position to learn to transport participants to and from activity center and drive bus for outings and field trips and ensure that children are transported safely and that no child is ever left unattended on the bus. Position may transition to Bus Driver upon satisfactorily completing training and meeting all other requirements including interview, testing and certifications. May be required to travel for training.Attend all training's as required when scheduled;Cooperate in obtaining Driving Record Request forms from previous employers;Be familiar with the use and contents of first aid kit;Be familiar with the operation of the fire extinguisher;Notify supervisor in advance if unable to attend training;Comply with drug testing procedures;Notify supervisor immediately of any moving traffic violation;Review and be familiar with and adhere to NEMCSA Head Start Transportation Policies and Procedures;Complete driving training, Michigan School Bus Driver Safety Education Course, apply for and obtain CDL with P and S endorsements;Abide by all NEMCSA and program policies.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. What We'll Love About You:
High School Diploma / GED required.Prefer previous bus driver or other commercial motor vehicle driving experience.Employees in this position must possess the ability to obtain a valid Michigan Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with a P and S endorsement and a DOT Medical Examiner's Certification.Must have as a personal driving record with not more than 6 active points as determined by the Department of State.
