Join the #1 hospital in Wisconsin!We are seeking an RN - ICU Pediatrics - Pre/Post & PACU to:Be responsible for independent peri-anesthetic management of complex varied surgical and procedural inpatient/outpatient pediatric populations.Function as a liaison by initiating and facilitating communication regarding patient needs between the specialty clinic, the Operating Room, the PACU, and the Inpatient Unit.Demonstrate skill in physical assessment related to pre-surgical state of a patient as well as the patient's assessment post-operatively.Minimum Requirements:Facility Requirement:Traveler must have permanent address outside 50 mile radius of Madison. Permanent address must be included in traveler's profile: resume, *** portal and all onboarding documentation must have permanent address listedExperience:Perioperative experience required - including pre-op, phase II, PACU.Pediatric experience required.Required to have work experience in a peds exclusive setting.Experience with special needs and complex care patient population.Traveler must have completed two years of acute care experience within last 3 years.Traveler must have experience in an Academic Level 1 - Trauma center or similar size hospital.Successfully completed traveler assignment (13 weeks).Licensure and Certification:Traveler must have WI nursing license or compact license from their permanent address state.BLS and PALS - must be certified through American Heart Association ONLYReferenceNeeds 2 references from recent work environment/assignments (supervisor or manager only).FloatingTravelers are the first to float to floors working with children up to 1 year of age and/or based on the traveler's competency skills/experience. The Traveler may have shifts scheduled in multiple units, depending on the current staffing needs and/or different locations within the organization. During the traveler's assignment, if the primary unit no longer has a need, shifts will be re-assigned to another unit in order to complete contract.On-call Optional: Call response time of 45 minutes; 45 minutes from phone call, dressed in scrubs and reporting to charge nurse.Location: American Family Children's Hospital, 1675 Highland Ave, Madison, WI 53792Parking: Permit required through UW Transportation.

Position Urgency:Quick Start

Shifts:36 hrs/week, Day/Evening, 12 hour shifts, Monday-Friday. -If can only do Pre/Post Op, hours will be 0730-2000 and no on call responsibilities. -If PACU, hours will be 0730-2000 and 0900-2130 with on-call responsibilities.
